My new tattoo.
Left shoulder.
It's an Angel.
Tribute to Mom. the pink is in reference to her 6 year battle with breast cancer. Angels are symbolic (to us) of her as well, they were always something that she was very fond of. I learned (at her funeral) that she was a very spiritual person her entire life (she atributed being cured of a childhood disease to a televangenlist "hands on TV experience") but she was NEVER interested in pushing her beliefs on us. The plan is that each of us (her son's) are going to get a similar tattoo, Rick (the oldest) got his a few weeks ago, same figure, but doubled up and facing each other (picture a butterfly, kinda) on the middle of his back. Scott is still planning (I think).
Augie from Doc Finn's put this on me, it turns out that Doc passed on a few years ago from lukemia. Augie now runs the same shop as "Augie's place" in the same location. It's kinda weird having a tattoo done by a dead guy (he did my Escher Lizard)
On a brighter note. I am making preliminary plans to get another tattoo, a chainwheel (the big front gear on a bike) on the inside of my right calf. I'm still up in the air as to whether or not I should piss $300 away.

Looking at it close up, thats a really sweet piece of ink PJ. The meaning behind it is even sweeter.
I just got my next half sleeve pushed back until May. I am dropping 6oo bucks. Ive been saving for along long time for that. Thats the only problem with ink, its so expensive. I dont mind the fact that it stays with you forever and all, its just the $$$ that can be frustrating, but you gotta pay for good work.
Its good to know Augie is still in business, I have a couple pieces by him.

Pete, I like the new tat. Seems like tattoos with meaning or a great story behind them are the ones most worth having for the duration. I agree with thummy, we should get together again some time soon?
