raw fish anyone?

Since its sweeping westernization, sushi has seen a sharp decrease of popularity in Japan.

---Never had it, never will. I don't see how you can eat raw fish, yet raw chicken or beef could kill you due to bacteria inside of it. Ive heard that raw pork is the most dangerous meat though.---

I love raw fish, depending on the fish.
Poultry is the only food that you can NEVER eat under cooked.
Modern food preparation techneics have eliminated the problems surrounding pork. and the only problem with beef is when it's cook uncleanly.

I just hate fish anyways...I like Tuna and I love things like crab legs and lobster but thats about it.

Tuna is best served raw. it has a mouth feel similar to rare beef. but much lower in fat. and can support a wide variety of sauces or sides.
lobster is also delightful raw.

I wouldn't feed caned tuna to my dog. I'd rather just by chicken.

Up until a few years ago the thought of sushi revolted me almost as much as my dislike of hard boiled eggs. However while at an upscale restaurant in Peach Tree, something or another just out side Atlanta where I ordered the Tuna on the menu. The waiter asked me how I would like it cooked, to which my response was as usual "medium". However my waiter was somehow able to persuade me that my choice was not to the chefs liking and that this exceptional piece of sushi grade tuna was served best "pan seared" (mostly raw). surprising my self and still sober I conceded to the wishes of my waiter, and the rest is history. That piece of fish was so fucking amazing I am still at a loss for words from that meal! Now I am always on the look out for some great raw fish... I guess I am hooked.

Whats wrong with eating canned tuna fish?

nothing is wrong with eating canned tuna. but then again there is nothing right about it either.
kidding, your talking to a guy who happily eats peanut butter and jelly every morning for breakfast (I have to be talked into varying this routine)
I just don't like the texture and smell of canned tuna. but give it to me fresh, I'll tear it up.

Scott, it's amazing to go to a restaurant and get the sort of service you got. someone who actually helps you order with out making you feel like a dick for not knowing that Chef Ducheface refuses to serve his tuna (our whatever) at whatever temperature. You almost feel like righting a thank you letter, as well as tipping.

yeah, that is pretty remarkable that you found a waiter that was more than willing to give such a positive suggestion.
