Not so easy to stomach when history is some times nothing more than theory, or written by those who won the day.

exactly. I also think that sometimes we can learn a lot from the so called evils of the world. If you look at things from their point of view, they were only protecting what they thought was right, you know?

History is the polemics of the victor. I don't know who coined the phrase; but my wife, being a history teacher, says it all the time.
