two men in a cell. one killed a man, albiet by accident. one had 2.5 pounds of a natural plant that he wanted to sell. which do you think should spend more time in jail?

althogh thats not really the point I understand.
I have often said that a great many of our drug laws should be revised, and those drugs should be taxed.

this is a very good point steve, thanks for bringing this up, I never knew that, even in all my years studying the criminal justice system.
while I agree with the point you are making, I think the fact that 1 crime was due to negligence while the other was in wilful, conscious disregard for the law should also be considered.
