dancing with the stars

---OK, I just talked to the ex a little while ago and she told me that a pair of the dancers danced to a song by The Clash.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD?

Can anything remain untouched?

Im sorry Mr. Joe Strummer, I know youre spinning in your grave. Us old timers out here that give a shit can only do so much.---

You know good music is good music, so what if it takes some people longer to discover it.

Hey I got on one for you E. The other morning on the radio they reported that concert revenues for musicians in England had out billed recorded music sales “for the first time in history”!

Thats an interesting fact. Lemme think on it.

What gets me is that yeah, its good music and it may get around and Im sure The remaining members of the clash had nothing to do with it, but when did people just loose their back bones and let shit lay where it may.

Nobody stands up for anything anymore.

There are a few certain events that shaped me, some were good, some were not. Im an old schooler now and damn proud of that fact. If some stupid ass TV show is going to try and capitalize from the benefit of one of my all time fave. bands, yeah, Im gonna stand up and bitch about it.

If you want things to change, you gotta stand up and bitch and be known, you just cant sit on your hands and say "Oh well, thats just good music"

My heroes aint going out like that in my book.

What just gets me is the fact, I dunno about you, but I wear the label "old schooler" now and I wear the label with pride. I dont know how long it takes before a song can become public domain, nor do I know how owns the rights to all the clash's work now that Joe is gone, but I dont take that shit laying down.

If we dont stand up as old timers now, there will be no one to pass such awesome music onto the next generation and then it dies. The music I listen to helps to keep me sane, quiet and happy. I can laugh w/ it and cry to it.

My musical roots have become very important to me over the past several years. Along side my daughter, my Mother and sometimes my ex, they are all I have and Im not gonna let them go to a group of individuals who dont appreciate what they really mean.

I can remember, just back to the very late 80s or early 90s when it was dangerous to go around looking like we used to...those were the good old days. I may not look like that now, but I have more angst and anger in me now than I did when I was 15 for very good reasons and the music I choose to call old school helps me to deal w/ those emotions.

I have an Old School t shirt that I wear and an Old School bumper sticker on my car and I wear them with pride.

This stuff is the soundtrack to who I once was and to whom I am now. Its not just "good music" its a lifeline.
