Virus Protection Advice

---Scott, Ill get back to you on the actor question, I gotta think about that one for a while, but thanks for the good on the spot question, I liked it.

OK, do any of you guys know a decent CHEAP or better yet, FREE virus protection program? My Mcafee plan that was nice and that came w/ my p.c. for free just ran out a few days ago and to repurchase it, it would run me 69 bucks a year! I also know that their best competition, Norton is a rip off because its not worth the price and it is a HUGE ASS memory hog.

I liked Mcafee, really, but 70 bucks a year?

Anyone know of a decent, cheap, or free virus protection program I can buy online??? Ive used AVG before and its free and does auto updates and everything and I never had any problems with it, but really, how good can it be?

Advice boys? Got some? Thanks, Ill check back later on...---

I like the slide show youve projected onto the site. I dont understand what that box w/ recent comments is about.....

Yeah, I never had problems w/ Norton itself, but Ive been told a million times by a million people that it chomps on huge bits of memory when you have it running in the background and there is no point to having so-called virus protection if youre not gonna be runnin it in the background all the time youre on your p.c., correct?

Really Scott, I know you know what you're talking about here and I am taking your word as gold. Shit, I can pick up Norton at Best Buy for like less than 50 bucks I think if I remember right.

Does that sound fair?

I think Ill go check it out tomorrow while most people are at work or side tracked w/ all the Obama stuff.

I use Windows Live one Care, free download, and an annual subscription cost, but I don't remember how much. But that covers all our machines (3)

Thats funny, I was just looking at Windows One Live Care this AM, but 59.95 is too much for me.
