Comments

Yesterday morning we got our first “spam” comment. I opted not to publish this comment which read as, “Are you tired of getting nice compliments on your blog, when really you're not making the kind of money that you deserve? Now you can join a completely FREE program” ect ect. What ever that’s about, it is annoying, but it got me thinking. Since starting this blog I have been moderating the comments. It was just another box to click when setting up the blog space. So now there is more than two of us, would any of the rest of you like to help out with moderation? I certainly don’t want to hog it…although we really don’t get many comments from any one but our selves. Honestly I don’t check it very frequently, so if some non Offmen was to comment they might have to wait a while to see their words. Let me know if you are interested.

Apparently, only one person at a time can particiapte in this. That is as best I can figure, maybe Mark can figure out the proper way to add names to the address field???

On my site, I was starting to have a lot of trouble with automated spam "bots", so I enabled "word verification" in the comments settings. This option requires the commenter to enter a word (usually some short nonsense word like "quobiw") that is displayed as a distorted graphic. The spam bots can't read the graphic & are prevented from posting.

It's hard not to sound lazy when saying the status quo is hunky dorie with me, when someone else is doing all the status quo work.
I propose alowing the spam comments if for no other reason then it will give us somethink to poke fun at. tee hee.
And heaven help the poor fucker allows for a way for us to spam him back.
Also it will give you cats one less thing to do. We all have lives to lead.

I still havent found what I'm looking for, U2
