Offmen Poll.

I was sitting here, in between that state of sleep and awareness and for some reason this question popped into my head...

When was the last time you stayed up all night and why?

At least once a month when I was working full time, just to get projects out the door. So not since April.

depends on what you mean by all night. If you mean 24 hours straight, I typically do it twice a week. Working 3rd shift then coming home to take care of the kids sometimes doesn't allow for sleeping. Usually do it from about 10pm wednesday to 10 pm thursday. then again from early Saturday to early Sunday.

Mr Martin, you deserve a medal then. Thats some serious sleep deprived time.

I try and make up for it on Friday night and Sunday during the late morning. Being addicted to caffeine and a having total disrespect for my own body helps me deal with it, though.

It's been a long time... My best guess is February 28, 1997. I was sent to Japan on business & came back on a Friday afternoon flight. During the flight (about 12 hours), on which I didn't get a wink of sleep, the sun went down & came back up, and we landed before 2pm -- still on Friday because of the International Date Line!

Mark, that would be such a head trip!

And Mike, I figured caffeine would play a part in there somewhere.

The nights that I don't work are usually alcohol fuelled.

Alcohol doesnt make you sleepy? It does me.

Alcohol makes me sleepy. My desire to imbibe it is a driving force that is not easily quashed. Right now I'm working on about 22 hours without sleep. Warsteiner, this blog, and my desire to squeeze out every minute I can from my "weekend" are what is keeping my eyes open.

since we are on the topic of sleep..for those of you that have trouble falling asleep, I recommend a little Godsend called Lunesta. The shit rules! I have been taking it for a few weeks now and its amazing.

It doesnt make you feel "drowsy" per se, it just tells your body in a very ncie way that its time to sleep...kind alike tricking your body clock. Another nice thing about it is that it is not addictive.

Its good stuff.

To quote the late, great Warren Zevon, "I'll sleep when I'm dead".

so many comments so little time. most of you know I sleep at the drop of a hat (sounds like our long lost brother Frank).
I once watched a porn where a foreign exchange student arived a day early (coitus interuptus) because of confusion with the international date line.
Long hours at work and taking care of babies... one thing that makes me VERY glad we had our family when I was still in puberty (slight exageration). I was working the eratic schedule of a banquet server when mine were born. mabye days, mabye nights, mabye not at all.
