Explanation

---Ask almost any kid and they will tell you that this is just a day out of school and leave it at that. How do you handle explaining what today really is to your sons, PJB?

Im not sure yet how I will explain things to Ava about it, but I know the ex and I will be asked a lot of curious questions about MLK day in the years to come.

How about you Scott? How will you explain the legacy of MLK to C when the time is right?

Its snowing here AGAIN, but we are only supposed to see 1-3 out of this blast of flakes, then that damn artic cold snap comes back down over us by mid week.

Hey PJB, how is Mike M. doing? I havent seen him on here in ages, is he all good?

You guys got any snow over there?---

I have not a clue, I just wing it day to day. If I am really lost I just ask Wikipedia.

I dont want school text books to teach her everything and she will be confident enough to ask questions a lot. Hell, she already does.

Our school created text books are pretty vanilla, they teach the very basic of a person or a situation and then it moves on. That is when I want Ava to come home to ask her parents....."Whats really up with that?"

Dont be a belligerent ass through your life, but ALWAYS be fearless when it comes to asking about things.

I'm confident the boys know who & what MLK is. Both through conversations and school. Mabye just for fun I will have a dinner converstation and report back.

Mike M is good, he's going to school, working nights and taking care of a townhousefull of estrogen. A wife, two toddlerettes and a girl dog.
Pray for him.

btw
if i start using less words it's cause we just got a 2nd hand laptop with a broken keyboard. so i use the 'on screen keyboard' which envolves ALOT of touch pad pointing &tapping

WOW PJ, thats awesome that this post got you guys talkin about some pretty historical things here in the states.


Because of you and me learning so much about him and the truth about who he had become, Ava will learn who Malcolm X is also, cuz that shit aint
in no "history" book.
